ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-2020

ASME student chapter at mgmcet was inaugurated on 30/08/2019.

Target group: all mechanical students and faculties.

Inauguration of ASME student chapter was held on 30-08-2019, 2:00 pm at AC seminar hall. The inauguration was done by Mr NINAN C.S. General Manager (Retired) BPCL, KOCHI.

Welcome address was done by HOD Mechanical Engineering. Presidential address by Dr T.K. Mani Principal MGMCET. Then meeting was addressed by Prof. K.V. Abraham, Academic Director.

The ASME student chapter of MGMCET conducted a motivational talk titled ‘THEORY OF FAILURE’ in seminar hall from 2:00pm – 4:00 pm. The resource person proved to be a source of motivation to students who gave encouraging messages from his own life and inspired students to be a self-motivator.  He discussed the importance of positive thinking and attitude which brings optimism into the life and such constructive changes can make a person brighter and successful. The program helped students to be guided by a positive mind driven by self-motivation.

Mechanical association programmes

1. Webinar on future Era of Robotics

The mechanical engineering student association of MGMCET organized a webinar in future Era of Robotics on 14-9-2020, Prof .Sunil Paul, CEO Srishti robotics Pvt. Ltd .guided the webinar session. Students from the mechanical department utilized the opportunity and they got many ideas about robotics field and its future scope.

2. Webinar on Automotive Competitions in India

The mechanical engineering student association of MGMCET organized a webinar in Automotive competitions in India on 13-10-2020,Mr. Aditya R, CEO D-SIM and Mr. Joyel S. Faculty D-SIM, guided the webinar session. Students from the mechanical department utilized the opportunity.

3. Seminar on Antidrug Generation

The mechanical engineering student association of MGMCET organized a seminar on Anti-Drug Generation, 16-7-2021, S I, Ramamangalam guided the webinar session.

MESA( Mechanical Engineering Students Association)

MESA( Mechanical Engineering Students Association) was created to foster the technical development of students by organizing seminars, workshops and other activities, as well as to improve the soft skills of students by generating good communication, management, presentation and work skills of team. This association is mentored by faculties of mechanical engineering department. MESA plays an pivotal role in the development of students as engineers by various
out-of-curriculum and extracurricular activities. MESA seeks to be an active organization of the ME department promoting students professional interests. its
activities aims to serve as a platform for all students in general and individually for students on mechanical engineering department.

Objectives
  • To promote the technical development of students by organising seminars, workshops and other activities.
  • To enhance the the interaction between curriculum and industries by organizing industrial visits, special lectures and facilitate in industrial training.
  • To encourage students of the mechanical Engineering department to develop their personal skills.
  • Encourage engineering students to develop their own engineering skills, such as event management and time management by conducting various  programmes.

1) Seminar on Career opportunities in Gas & Oil field industries

Conducted on: 17/3/2022
Objective: To give an idea about Career opportunities in Gas & Oil field industries
Target group : Students from mechanical and civil engineering department
Report: The mechanical engineering association organized a seminar on “Career opportunities in Gas & Oil field industries” on 17/3/22.Vishal K V guided the seminar session. He was discussed about world class training and certification in different aspects of educational field such as Technical, Management, Safety, and interior designing. Unique opportunity to face challenges through enriched learning, academic excellence, professional training and corporate exposure. He added about the courses and examinations to all major industry sectors such as Oil and Gas, Construction, Power and automotive. He concluded with quality of training and assessment leading to internationally recognized qualifications in demand by industry worldwide.

2) Seminar on anti drug generation

Target Group: First year Students from ME/CE/EE/CE/CS Department
Resource Person: SI, Ramamangalam Police Station

Report: The Mechanical Engineering Association of MGM CET conducted a seminar on ‘Anti Drug Generation’. The seminar was guided by SI, Ramamangalam. It was conducted related to the International Anti-Drug Day. He was given a awareness about drugs, It’s effects, related laws, Anti drug centers etc.
Who Attended: Students from Mechanical Engineering Department(50 students)
Course outcome: Students get an awareness about drugs, It’s effects, related laws, Anti drug centers etc.
Feedback: It was very informative session and students told that it will help to know about the drugs and it’s effects on life.
